We’re receiving far more enquiries than usual. If you’ve contacted us recently and not yet had a reply, we’re sorry — here’s what’s happening, and how to reach us if your enquiry is urgent.
We want to be honest with you. Right now we’re receiving many more enquiries than we normally do, and if you’ve been in touch recently and not yet heard back, we’re genuinely sorry for the wait.
Like many structural engineering and surveying practices across the UK, we’ve seen a sudden and significant rise in enquiries over the past few weeks. Following the hottest summer on record, insurers are reporting a sharp surge in subsidence claims — hot, dry ground shrinks beneath foundations, and the cracks, sticking doors and uneven floors that follow are bringing a great many worried homeowners to us all at once.
~140%
The rise in subsidence claims reported by one major UK insurer in August, compared with the same month last year — the highest monthly level on record.
We could have quietly let our response times slip and said nothing. We’d rather tell you what’s happening. Every enquiry matters to us, and we don’t want anyone left wondering whether they’ve been forgotten. You haven’t.
What this means for you
Our team is working through enquiries as quickly as we can, but you may wait a little longer than our usual response time. We’re prioritising urgent structural concerns and active insurance claims first, then working through everything else in turn.
If your enquiry is urgent — for example, visible cracking that’s getting worse, a property that feels unsafe, or a live insurance claim with a deadline — please let us know so we can move you up the queue.
We really do appreciate your patience. The very reason we’re stretched is the same reason we do this work — helping people understand what’s happening beneath their homes, and giving them the reassurance of a clear, expert answer. Thank you for bearing with us; we’ll be in touch as soon as we can.
Flag it, and the right person sees it faster
Please use our enquiry form and tick the “urgent” box. This flags your enquiry so it reaches the right engineer quickly, rather than sitting in a busy inbox.
