I appointed Abbott Holliday to undertake a structural survey on a Grade 2 listed 18th Century Barn. I gave them very short notice and Peter Holliday was extremely helpful and able to make arrangements for the survey to take place. The survey was very thorough, and the report I received back was very clear, easy to understand together with photographs and a series of recomendations. They fulfilled the brief completely. I needed a structural Engineer urgently due to subsidence issue with my neighbour.

When I called the company, Peter was happy to discuss my concerns and arrange an engineer to attend within a week. His colleague Gervais who attended was very professional and we felt very confident in his ability. I received the report the following week, and am so pleased that issues that were highlighted will now be taken into consideration by the neighbours party wall surveyor. I am extremely pleased with the service we received.

Following a mortgage valuation report on a property, we were informed by the surveyor that there were signs of structural movement on the property and the mortgage lender required a structural report to be carried out on the property. We contacted Abbott Holliday by email and received a quick response which answered all my queries, confirming the cost of the report, what the report included and the qualifications of the individuals carrying out the investigation. They were able to carry out the inspection within a couple of days and at a time that was convenient for our tenant. Following the inspection, they provided me with an update on the initial findings of the inspection and the full report was produced and sent to me the next day. I would highly recommend Abbott Holliday.

I called Abbott Holliday and spoke to Peter, in order to obtain a quote for a survey required by our client, he was very helpful and provided the quote via email straight away. I contacted Peter Holliday regarding a subsidence claim I had made on my home insurance. I asked for an independent structural engineer’s inspection of my house and a report, as I was unhappy with the way the insurance company were dealing with it.

I know nothing of these matters and felt out of my depth.

Bruce, a senior Structural Engineer did a careful inspection and provided a helpful report, which did not fully concur with that from the loss adjusters.

Since then, Peter has been very helpful in advising me how to proceed, as a result of which the insurance company have changed their approach.
